SEVENTEEN PLASTIC SURGERY ANALYSIS (MAKNAE LINE)

I think plastic surgery is neither bad nor good. Celebrities have immense pressure to look the best as they possibly can, which can be helped by plastic surgery. I think it will be a healthier environment if celebrities (not just K-pop celebrities) are more open about the plastic surgery and cosmetic procedures they’ve done or at least not lie about it  so the general public can see that beauty is attainable through plastic surgery.

DISCLAIMERS: I’m not a plastic surgeon nor have I gotten plastic surgery, so my knowledge in this area is limited (my knowledge mostly comes from Youtube really). These are just my personal opinions and not facts so you can respectfully disagree. This post is not meant for fuel to send hate to the members as they are probably pressured by the industry they’re in to look as good as they possible can. With that out of the way, I’ll start with my analysis.

DK

DK has always had such a big recognizable smile. The biggest changes I see to his face are his eyes and nose. His eyes now open wider vertically, this was likely due to ptosis repair. He has always had a large nose with the nose tip drooping down. But the tip of his nose looks to be slimmer now compared to his predebut photos, he likely got a rhinoplasty to achieve this look.

Here's another photo of predebut DK when he is not smiling to show how DK's eyes and nose have changed. His eyes open wider and his nose is slimmer from front view. Other than that, I don't see other changes to his face. The procedures were really well done, I think it upgraded his visuals in the best way possible.

In conclusion, I think DK got ptosis repair and a rhinoplasty. I think people tend to forget about DK when talking about the visuals in Seventeen, I personally think he is in the visual line of Seventeen. I guess his goofy personality makes people forget about how good looking he is. I really like his goofy personality though, he has made me laugh until my stomach hurts countless of times.

MINGYU

Mingyu has always been handsome and his face doesn't seem to change much. But after further inspection, I see some changes to his eyes. It's likely that he got double eyelid surgery. We can see in the picture below when Mingyu is closing his eyes that he currently has a higher eyelid fold compared to how it was during predebut even though he has always had double eyelids.

I also see a change in the width of his eyes, his current eyes looks horizontally larger compared to the predebut photo, his inner eye corners also look to be sharper now. He likely got an inner corner cut to achieve this look. Other than that, I don't see any changes to his face. He has such a nice tall nose and I believe it's natural as he's always had a prominent nose bridge

In conclusion, I think Mingyu got double eyelid surgery and inner corner cut. The procedures he likely did are really well done, he still looks recognizable, that's why on the first look I thought Mingyu is also natural. I love how despite of his large physique, he acts like a small puppy, I find this adorable.

THE8

The8 has a lot of childhood photos online, he had some interesting childhood photos. When Seventeen first debuted, The8 had a cute image, which he changed to his more tough image in the present day. Looking at photos of him during debut comparing it with his predebut photos, I see that his eyes are larger vertically after debut. This was likely achieved through ptosis repair.

A few years into his career, there seem to be a change to his nose. I think many Carats also noticed this change. He used to have a round nose, now his nose is slimmer and slightly taller. We can see clearly in side profile view that his nose is more projected now. Other than that, I don't see any changes to his face.

In conclusion, I think The8 got ptosis repair and a rhinoplasty. I think the procedures he did are really well done, the changes really enhanced his beauty nicely without changing his face completely. I love his honesty and how real he seems, this side of him brings a different type of humor into Seventeen's dynamic we see on camera.

SEUNGKWAN

Seungkwan has a lot of his childhood photos available online and they were all so cute, you can recognize him right away. I do see some changes to his eyes, his current eyes look to be larger both horizontally and vertically. He likely got double eyelid surgery to make his eyes appear larger vertically, he used to have very small eyelids but now his eyelids are more visible. He also likely got his inner and outer corner cut as his eye are proportionally wider now as indicated by the red lines.

I also noticed that Seungkwan's jawline used to be a lot smaller when he just debuted compared to his recent photos. It seems like he got a chin reduction to make his chin less long and sharp so it's more balanced with the rest of his face. You can also see that sometime after his debut, he got a nose implant as his current nose looks taller and slimmer compared to how it previously looked.

In conclusion, I think Seungkwan got double eyelid surgery, inner and outer corner cut, a rhinoplasty and chin reduction. I saw that Seungkwan once said something along the lines of "I'm surprised I can be an idol with my face". I was so sad to hear that he thinks that way, I hope he has realized that there is more to being an idol than just his looks. He is one of the best K-pop main vocalist and he's also really funny. I personally don't think he is bad-looking either. I hope he doesn't feel too much pressure to look perfect anymore.

VERNON

Vernon was in a TV show as a child, so we have a lot of predebut content of him, he's always been very handsome. It doesn't look like his features changed in a way that was likely caused by plastic surgery in my opinion. The change in his nose is likely natural as there is no straight lines on his nose, usually a rhinoplasty can cause distinct straight lines on the nose bridge, but his nose doesn't have that.

In conclusion, I think Vernon is natural. He's always been blessed with good looks. He also doesn't seem to be someone who cares too much about his appearance. I love his very easy-going personality, it's calming to see someone so calm. He's my favorite rapper in Seventeen's Hip-hop Unit.

DINO

Dino also had a lot of predebut content, I think he appeared in some TV shows too. He's always had an infectious smile. I don't see much changes to Dino's face. I do believe that he got a rhinoplasty before debut to make his nose slightly taller and the base of his nose narrower, then decided to get another rhinoplasty to make his nose even taller and slimmer.

I think many Carats also noticed that his nose changed recently. I think the rhinoplasty was really well done, the new nose fits his face well. Here are some side profile photos of Dino to compare his nose.

In conclusion, I think Dino got two rhinoplasties. I think the possible procedures were done really well and they look natural. Dino recently just uploaded a Dino Danceology with Seungkwan, so let's support it! I really love his Danceologies, I think many times his dancing and choreographing abilities are overshadowed by Hoshi's abilities, but I think he is just as good and we should also appreciate his dancing too.

I hope anyone reading this takes this post in a positive way as my intention is not to shame the members for getting plastic surgery. We need to understand that K-pop idols and other celebrities have a lot of pressure to look good and it's not a bad thing for them to resort to plastic surgery as it is what is demanded by society.
